To me, this is what is wrong with trying to go out with people, or rather, what typically goes wrong with going out with people.
People go on and on about being progressive yet rampant traditionalism run amok seems to paint a depressingly socially conservative motif across the relational landscape.

That's why people in Europe don't "date" or "go out" with people they barely know. Normally a first "date" comes when you practically know each other well enough to estimate your chance of a relationship higher than 50%.
